Children's Activities
Organized games and activities are available for children of all ages. A children's auction, open to those 12 and under, and a scavenger hunt are two of the fun activities.
One hands-on, service activity for the children is the filling of
school kits. School kits are the Mennonite Central Committee's most requested item. They are given primarily to refugee and displaced children, helping students and teachers add some normalcy to disrupted lives. Also areas that experienced natural disaster receive them with joy. Each year MCC sends school kits for children in places such as Belize, Bosnia, Burundi, Haiti, Honduras, Iraq, Liberia, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine and to poorly funded schools in Canada and the United States.
Our local goal is to complete 500 school kits. This activity is for adults and children. Contact our Children's Director for further details.

The Oregon Mennonite Festival for World Relief was featured in the "Kid Trips" section of the Salem Statesman-Journal. Writer Holly Hamlin says,

"No event this season is more anticipated than the Oregon Mennonite Festival for World Relief. It may sound strange that my kids count down the weeks to this annual event. It is, as the title suggests, a fundraiser to help bring relief across the globe.
"And though I'd like to brag that their fondness stems solely from unselfish philanthropy, the truth is that it's a mlot of fun." | |
